Responsible Drinking Borough

On Saturday 3 September 2011 Tower Hamlets will become a responsible drinking borough. Police and Council Enforcement Officers can ask anyone to stop drinking and confiscate their alcohol. Failure to surrender the alcohol can result in a £50 on the spot fine. (FPN)

If you continue drinking and was asked not to do so, and commit an offence you can be arrested and sentenced to up to £500.
Drinking outside of pubs up to 1/2 hour after closing time is allowed. You can also drink in your own garden.
