The council has voted to keep East End Life weekly after all as the most cost-effective option to deliver news to all residents around the borough. I suppose the argument that many residents do not have access to computers is a good one. At the last count I think only 15% of residents were having computers.
I understand the paper is reduced from 50 to 48 editions per year, shall pay for itself through advertising revenue and will have less pages.
PS: Here is a comment from a councillor about this who contradicts the arguments of LutfurRahman.
