RIPA impact on Residents

An organisation calling itself Big Brother Watch reports that councils authorise 11 covert surveillance operations a day and it could happen to any of us that we are the ones being watched.

“To read the full report – The Grim Ripa – including a complete break-down of authorisation by councils in the periods 2008-09 and 2009-10, please click this link” recommends Big Brother Watch website and we invite you to do the same.

It depends for what purpose such operations are carried out and they can include Trading Standards Test purchases, which are welcome when they prevent alcohol,  cigarettes and fireworks being sold to under-age kids. Such operations can include dog fouling, employees of councils; another well known one is school places. Just visit the Big Brother Watch Website if you want to know more.
